What our employees say
Find out first-hand what drives our employees - Sales Manager Katja Neubauer provides exciting insights into everyday working life at ETIMEX.
Katja, which department do you work in at ETIMEX and how long have you been there?
Hello, my name is Katja Neubauer and I have been working in sales at ETIMEX since November 2021. As Sales Manager, I am responsible for the area of flexible films. This is very diverse, as it covers a wide range of areas - whether it's films for flooring laminates, packaging, pharmaceutical applications or adhesive tape applications.
In my job, I work all over the world. We occasionally have enquiries from Australia or Asia and also supply customers from the USA. However, most of my customers are in Germany or Europe.
What has been your most exciting or interesting project so far?
I actually find all of our projects exciting and our work is very varied. But what I'm particularly interested in at the moment are all the developments surrounding the topic of sustainability. It's exciting to see how the topic is permeating all areas.
One example: Personally, I wouldn't have initially suspected any sustainability potential in the flooring laminate sector, but even there we can work with our mono PP film. This shows me again and again how many more possibilities there are that we can tap into - replacing PVC is currently a big issue for us.
What topics and questions do colleagues turn to you for? Do you have any areas of specialisation?
I am always the first point of contact in the company when it comes to flexible films and thinner films. And I specialise in adhesive and siliconised applications - I now have 18 years of experience in this area.
What makes ETIMEX a special employer for you?
The focus on sustainability at ETIMEX impressed me right from the start. I had already read a lot about this on the homepage during the application process and since I started working here I have realised that the topic of sustainability is not just written on the company's website, it is also part of it. For example, the majority of our electricity comes from renewable energies and the strong focus on the recyclability of our packaging materials is really something special in the plastics industry. I used to find this point in particular so difficult about the industry: we actually sell waste products that are thrown away after use. And here I now have the opportunity to work on precisely this problem and make it a little greener.
And what also makes ETIMEX special for me is the short decision-making channels. You have close contact with everyone, but at the same time you have a lot of freedom in your own work. Instead of control, we have a very flexible way of working here, where I can organise my working day however I want - whether it's my working hours or the way I work best.
What do you like to do in your free time?
As well as spending time with my two children, I like to do sport - I go jogging if I have time - and I love cooking.
I also love learning new things, which is why I have been doing personal training courses for many years. For example, I am currently doing a distance learning programme to become a personal coach.
I find it so exciting to keep gaining insights into completely new and different subject areas.
If you could describe ETIMEX in three words, what would they be?
What immediately springs to mind is, of course, the word sustainable.
And I find the atmosphere in the team here very pleasant. I think the best way to describe this team spirit and the helpfulness of my colleagues is as a family.
I also find ETIMEX to be very customer-orientated. Throughout the company, we are totally open to enquiries from customers. We are always ready to do something and then act quickly.
